What do I paint about?
Anything can inspire me: fruit on a table, a line from a Cuban song, tropical flowers and leaves on the street, or a leopard-print swimsuit from H&M.
We cannot control or change global events. But why not notice the beauty of fruit lying on a table, lit by the evening sun, or large leaves in a patio against a pink wall? Why not look more carefully at the endless horizon and the turquoise sea, and think of something good? And it is up to us to savour the perfect taste of a tequila sunrise, drunk at five in the afternoon on a Monday on one of Mexico's Caribbean beaches — and to let ourselves feel happy...

There are several themes that inspire me throughout my life: Havana, of course, and Mexico — the life here with its culture, climate, sea, fruits, animals, and people. I also love coffee, and that too is a source of inspiration. Another thread close to my heart is the inner freedom of women, solitude as a conscious choice, and the relationship between women and men. All of this is what I tell through these series.
